Agree the music is pretty much the same. However because a milonga has a cortina whereas a practica often does not, the playlist needs to be in 3- or 4-song lumps.
The other thing though I would say is that a milonga crowd are much less forgiving than a practica crowd. At a practica, they are there for learning and practicing. However at a milonga, they are there purely for the enjoyment and the passion of the tango. You need to read the crowd much better at a milonga and if they are losing interest, you better react with good music quickly!
